Program Overview
Jointly sponsored by the Department
of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department
of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, the Certificate
Program in Logistics is intended to help students interested in logistics
design a coherent program of study that exploits the many courses, seminars
and resources available on campus. Faculty
advisors help students design a personalized study program to meet
their goals. The Certificate provides formal recognition that a basic
level of proficiency in logistics has been acquired.
The certificate is open to Master's and Ph.D students in the colleges
of engineering and business.
Master's of Science students can meet the minimum
requirements by judicious choice of electives without increasing the
total number of credit hours toward their degree. Master's of Engineering
and PhD students usually follow more ambitious study programs. These programs
may include research and independent study components with campus researchers
active in the logistics area.
