Professor Rhonda Righter joined the department in July 2003. Before that she taught operations management, computer-based decision models and statistics at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. She received a PhD and MS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley, and a BS in Mathematics and Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon. Her primary research interests are in the general area of stochastic modeling and optimization, especially as applied to manufacturing and telecommunication systems. She has published more than 40 journal articles, and is an associate editor for Operations Research, Operations Research Letters, Queueing Systems, and the Journal of Scheduling. She is a past associate editor of Management Science and past Chair of the Applied Probability Society of INFORMS.
