ramteen sioshansi
I'm a recent Ph.D. graduate from the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research department at Berkeley. I also did my undergraduate degree at Berkeley in Economics and Applied Math, and an M.Sc. in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
My research focuses on the design and analysis of market-based mechanisms to operate systems which have traditionally been coordinated through centralized control mechanisms.
My work is currently focused on restructured electricity markets, studying the impact of climate change regulation, and on the potential impacts of introducing renewable energy sources and standards on the existing power system.
I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Berkeley, and as a consultant for PG&E, developing market models for the upcoming redesign of California ISO under MRTU. In August, I will be starting as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
